Dive School
Your child has the opportunity to participate in the Ringwood Diving Club's dive school, which is designed to give pupils an early introduction to diving skills. The scheme is a fun activity to bridge the gap between swimming lessons and the diving squads, or as an alternative to swimming lessons. This exciting introduction to diving builds water confidence and works on fundamental skills like posture, balance, rotation, body awareness and develop skills for springing, preparing the diver to progress to advanced skills.
The only requirement to participate in Ringwood Diving Club's dive school is that you are a minimum of 5 years old and must be able to swim confidently in deep water.
If you've done trampolining or gymnastics before, then you'll already have some of the skills necessary to become a first class springboard or highboard diver.
In a wider context, few sports develop co-ordination, confidence and physical fitness better than diving!

Squads
Squad allocation is dependent upon achievement of the necessary standards. There are guidelines outlining the criteria for promotion and demotion between squads. But the final decision always rests with the Head Coach.
Diver's skill development, performance in competition, attitude and commitment to training will be considered when moving between squads.
After Squad allocation divers must commit to the squad by showing a willingness to work towards their goals and attendance requirements. Failure to adhere to these expected standards may lead to relocation, or in some situations removal from the scheme.
Entry to competitions will be strictly controlled by the Head Coach and divers must accept the commitment of team selection.
